Caring for someone in bed, without hurting yourself

When a person spends many hours in bed, the right bed protects two people: the one lying in it, from pressure sores and falls, and the one caring for them, from back pain. In our shop at Via Crispi 130 in Varese you will find electric care beds, motorised bed bases, side rails, hoists and pressure-relief mattresses and cushions. We show them working and assemble them in the room ourselves.

A motorised slatted base for a care bed

Electric care bed or motorised base?

An electric care bed is a complete nursing bed: it raises the back and legs, rises in height for the carer and has side rails and a lifting pole. A motorised bed base sits on your own bed instead, without changing the room: it suits people who want to raise their back and legs but are still independent. To move someone who cannot stand there is the electric hoist and, for people who can bear their own weight, the stand-aid.

An air-cell cushion and pressure-relief cushions

Pressure-relief mattresses and cushions

People who spend most of the day in bed or in a wheelchair and move little on their own always load the same points: the base of the spine, the heels, the hips. That is where pressure sores start. A pressure-relief mattress or cushion spreads the weight and reduces pressure: there are foam, air-cell and alternating-air models with a pump. The level of risk should be assessed with a doctor or nurse; we help you choose the model and size.

Yes, with our van across Varese and the province: the technician assembles the bed in the room, adjusts the rails and lifting pole and shows the carer how to use the remote. Care beds can also be rented, for a return home from hospital.
