How a seated stairlift works
It can almost always be installed without altering the house: the rail is fixed to the treads or to the wall. The controls are simple buttons or levers, so the person can use it alone. There are models for straight and curved stairs, even steep ones, and they can be fitted with a swivel seat, height adjustment and call remotes.
